Innovating in Education Ética Ambiental Our School Under the paradigm of experiential education, we develop educational programs in Patagonia always using the same principles: think, observe, feel and do. We provide applied training, integrating the intellectual with the emotional to facilitate the development of very useful skills and abilities in the urban setting, whether personal or professional. The proposals of Patagonia On Foot are a true educational experience: Physically intense, with high cognitive value and emotionally captivating. Therefore, we select the best places to make it the experience of your life: The Miter Peninsula in the province of Tierra del Fuego, the Perito Moreno National Park and the Los Glaciares National Park in Santa Cruz, the Nahuel Huapi National Park in Río Negro and the Lanín National Park in Neuquén. We encourage our students to make real decisions that have an impact on the group. We expose them to their own limits -physical and psychological- in a context of uncertainty and challenge. Are you curious? Human beings are naturally curious and in Patagonia On Foot we have it very much in mind. Makes us different ? We believe that all classrooms do not have four walls. And we know that a challenge can help you grow, and that a trip to nature can touch your soul. We create experiences that are worth having, for people, for ourselves and for the world. Our Team Juan Manuel Gonzalez Director & Educador Outdoor Renata Carignano Torres Comunicación & Marketing Agustín Szcepanski Educador Outdoor & Filmación Federico Scartascini Investigador & Educador Outdoor Juan Cruz Ureta Educador Outdoor & Fotografía Gustavo Cayun Pichunlef Educador Outdoor Juan Cruz Zorzoli Educador Outdoor Pablo Alvarez Pincol Educador Outdoor "Increíble todo lo vivido! Nunca imaginé que se podía experimentar tanto en 8 días, imposible de describir con palabras. Ezequiel C. Buenos Aires. Líder 2030. Our North Our mission is to work to meet the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Organization (UN) 2030. We recognize ourselves as part of a movement determined to redefine education in Latin America. As educators, we maintain that it is through education that the seeds of the social changes that the world needs are sown. The identification and analysis of risks are the basis of all our decisions. Respect towards oneself and towards others; for the society and nature we inhabit. Professional and environmental ethics are the core that sustains Patagonia On Foot. We complement academic training through the paradigm of experiential education and the development of 21st century skills. Thus, we decided to be active participants in the challenge posed by the UN. Security Policy Safety and risk assessment The recognition and management of risks is a process inherent to life itself. At Patagonia On Foot we accept risk as an integral part of the learning process and the environment through which we move. Risk management is the basis of all planning and the first conditioning factor in making all decisions. Each expedition has a unique security planning, using specific techniques for that purpose. House Rules The rules of coexistence are rules of conduct that establish obligations or duties, as well as prohibitions; seeking to promote behaviors that favor life in society. The rules seek to give us certainty, that is, confidence and security in the new environment, because thanks to them we know what we can expect from others and, at the same time, they know what they can expect from us. In relation to risk management, the rules help prevent problems or conflicts in the relationship between people. But they also have the function of establishing what should be done in cases where the rules of coexistence are not respected. Teamwork We encourage the exercise of group work in all our activities, highlighting interculturality and diversity of personalities as fundamental values for the 21st century. We promote the space for group evaluation of situations in search of critical reflection as part of the processing of new experiences. John Dewey, (1859-1952). Conflict resolution techniques and teamwork are key elements in our educational experience. Environmental Ethics Outdoor living techniques and environmental conservation The teaching of outdoor life techniques, habits and ethical standards has to do with the relationship that human beings establish with our context every day. Competence in the use of these techniques, habits and principles, in addition to allowing us to act safely, do so responsibly and in a commitment to the place and the people. That our expeditions take place in isolated places, and almost unmodified by man, means a great responsibility, which implies the care and protection of natural areas. All our actions are based on the dynamic process towards a fairer and more equitable society. We are aware of the environment where we live and we try to be consistent with it. That is why our educators apply and teach low-impact techniques and ecosystem protection. All our activities are based on the seven principles of the Leave No Trace Foundation. (Leave no trace). Política de Seguridad Nuestro Norte
