- Patagonia On Foot I Líderes 2030 I Encuentro y Equipo Necesario
- Nosotros | Escuela Patagonia On Foot | Bariloche, Argentina
Innovating in Education School of Outdoor Education I Patagonia I Argentina Our school . Our purpose is to inspire individuals and teams to discover their potential through experiences in nature, for the development of a more fulfilling and sustainable life, personally, professionally, and socially. We are passionate about outdoor education and its positive impact on individuals, organizations, and society. Under the paradigm of Experiential Education, we design outdoor activities ranging from one to fifteen days in duration to facilitate learning of competencies and skills for everyday use. We encourage our students to make real decisions that impact the group. We expose them to their own limits - physical and psychological - in a context of uncertainty and challenge. We work by providing a learning experience centered on the human being and their relationship with people and nature. What makes us different ? We believe that not all classrooms have four walls. We know that a new challenge can help you grow and that a journey into nature can touch your soul. We create memorable experiences for the participants and for ourselves. Our north . We recognize ourselves as part of a movement determined to redefine education in Latin America. As educators, we maintain that it is through education where the seeds of the social changes the world needs are sown. Identification and analysis of risks are the basis of all our decisions. Respect for oneself and others; for the society and the nature we inhabit. Professional and environmental ethics are the trunk that supports Patagonia On Foot. We complement academic training through the paradigm of experiential education and the development of 21st-century skills. Thus, we decide to be active participants in the challenge posed by the UN: The Sustainable Development Goals for the year 2030. The Team . Agustina Buscaglia Juan Manuel Gonzalez Renata Carignano Torres Juan Cruz Ureta Pablo Alvarez Pincol Maitena Astiz Federico Scartascini Gustavo Cayun Pichunlef Security and risk managment Recognizing and managing risks is an inherent process in life itself. At Patagonia On Foot, we accept risk as an integral part of the learning process and the environment through which we navigate. Risk management is the foundation of all planning and the primary factor in decision-making. Each expedition has a unique safety plan, using specific techniques for this purpose. Guidelines for living together Norms of coexistence are rules of conduct that establish obligations or duties, as well as prohibitions, aiming to promote behaviors that favor life in society. Norms seek to provide us with certainty, that is, confidence and security in the new environment, because thanks to them we know what to expect from others, and at the same time, they know what to expect from us. In relation to risk management, norms help prevent problems or conflicts in the relationship between people. But they also serve the function of establishing what should be done in cases where the rules of coexistence are not respected. Teamwork We encourage the practice of teamwork in all our activities, emphasizing interculturality and diversity of personalities as fundamental values for the 21st century. We promote the space for group evaluation of situations in search of critical reflection as part of the processing of new experiences. John Dewey (1859-1952). Conflict resolution techniques and teamwork are key elements in our educational experience. Security Policy . Environmental ethics . Outdoor living techniques and environmental conservation The teaching of outdoor life techniques, habits, and ethical norms is related to the relationship that human beings establish with our environment every day. Competence in the use of these techniques, habits, and principles not only allows us to act safely but also responsibly and in commitment to the place and the people. That our expeditions take place in isolated and minimally modified by humans places means a great responsibility, which involves the care and protection of natural areas. All our actions are based on the dynamic process towards a more just and equitable society. We are aware of the environment where we live and try to be consistent with it. That is why our educators apply and teach low-impact techniques and ecosystem protection. All our activities are based on the seven principles of the Leave No Trace organization. Working with small groups and being environmentally conscious allows us to guarantee a high quality of service and experience. Our motto is 'small groups, big experiences.' "Incredible everything we experienced! I never imagined that so much could be experienced in 8 days, impossible to describe with words." Ezequiel C. Buenos Aires. Líder 2030 Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself. . JhonD ewey

We replace walls, windows, blackboards and computers with mountains, lakes and forests. Our students are protagonists and not spectators: they observe, feel and live situations that are impossible to reproduce in the traditional classroom context. In this course you will: Get to know yourself in depth and identify your profile as a leader. Be part of a team, identify its characteristics and value its potential. Use outdoor techniques and environmental conservation. Acquire tools to make mountain outings autonomously and safely. In addition to: Assemble and hike with a backpack. Set up a camp and cook mountain food. Relate safety with comfort. Interpret the variables that affect the planning of activities in nature. Know the correct use of technical equipment and the importance of its care. Learn about safety and emergency procedures in different environments.
